Happy Saturday! I had a little oopsie last week and sent you 4 emails, SORRY. This week, I think I’ve got it right. 3 new recipes for you below, so you can get ahead of the game this week!
My week was very relaxed. Since it’s so nice out, Kyle and I have been doing all of Reggie’s walks together (vs our normal taking turns), so I’ve just been getting MANY steps in and enjoying the sun.
WATCHING: we wrapped up Beef, which was good but no match to season 1. I was very upset about Burberry. Now we’re onto Widow’s Bay - a little late to the party and no clue what it’s about really, but I’ve heard it’s good so we shall see. Have you seen it?
READING: I purchased Ella Quittner’s new book “obsessed with the best” and I’m so excited to see how she approaches testing - like 40 varieties of something. I truly wish I had the time to do this level of testing, I love love love the science behind things... one day. I’m only a bit of the way in, but I love her writing so far and of course the concept.
this week’s lineup
This week I reallllllly leaned into cold food. At first, I questioned if I went too far… but it is a low cook series, and it’s summer, so why not try something new. If you’re truly skeptical - you can do the spaghetti and the nachos warm and I explain how in the recipes (minor tweaks), but they’re honestly really refreshing as is. Just be sure to warn who you’re serving that they are MEANT to be cold, or they’ll be in for a… not so pleasant surprise.
go get your dinner, sorted!

heirloom tomato cold spaghetti with whipped cottage cheese: putting those fresh tomatoes to WERK. Heirlooms are ideal but any ripe juicy variety will work.
mortadella cherry bomb sandwich: with my abundance of cherries right now, I had to get them between some bread.
green goddess cold pickle nachos: some of you expressed concern that you hadn’t seen a pickle recipe in a while. PLEASE DON’T WORRY IM OK… now!
we’ve got one more week of low dinners, let me know if you’ve got requests for the series or for anything at all in August!

Oooo Obsessed with the Best has been on my list for a while!
