happy saturday from Raincouver 🌧

It’s currently pouring outside, but I refuse to believe summer is over. To anyone posting fall content already… how dare you.

Summer is painfully short here in Vancouver, so if you’re still melting in 30°C heat, please ship it my way. Thanks so much.

This week was actually… eventful. (As the video states: NOT a normal day in my life. Most days I’m elbow-deep in dishes and anxiety, not out living the glam life.) But here’s what went down:

  • 🥣 hit up the Fable warehouse sale: got some dreamy new pieces for my collection.

  • 🍕 got to visit a brand new restaurant with a literal spinning pizza oven. Epic.

  • 🍦 snuck in an ice cream run on one of the rare warm days.

  • ☕ went back to hot coffee because… it’s cold now 🫠.

  • 📚 and most importantly!! Prepped for possibly the coolest career moment yet: interviewing cookbook author, James Beard–winning, NYT contributor Hetty Lui McKinnon. Stay tuned!

This week’s recipe: born from a craving for fish & chips… minus the deep-fryer.
Think: fish & chips meets latkes. All the good stuff in one bite. Crispy potatoes, chunks of flaky white fish, malt vinegar dipping sauce, lemon, and fresh herbs.

Like all my favorite recipes, this one is a dinner that will wow but actually took barely any effort.

So… let’s get your dinner, sorted.
