Happy August, wow I cannot believe I’m saying that. July was mostly about low cook dinners (the full library is here if you missed it) cause she was a HOT one. I loved the challenge of low cook meals, I love having a parameter when I’m coming up with recipe ideas. I like to think I’m a rule breaker, but I can’t lie I love structure!!!
This month I am going to be really leaning into making August produce the star! I know lots of you love the farmer’s markets so I want to help you transform those juicy finds and let the produce be the star of dinners in August.
If you have ANY requests, as always drop a note for me below ❤️
what we cooked in july
what I loved in July
with last month being low cook dinners, I definitely leaned on some tools to help me out. Plus I had to share my new favorite cute top cause I’m JUST A GIRL.
prep julienne y-peeler: everytime I share this people go WILD. It’s lovely for super quickly julienning carrots and cucumbers and takes up way less space than a mandoline (and a heck of a lot safer).
clyde electric kettle: my new kettle that I am LOVE. It is giving Jetson’s in the best way, plus it’s like twice as big as my other kettle so I don’t need to refill and wait when I’m using it for dinner help. It is simple and only has on/off (no temperature settings), but I just love that it reminds me of my nana’s kettle that lived on her stove for afternoon tea every day.
flaming estates spicy olive oil: this is a lovely finishing oil, not only is it tasty but it has such a nice red hue to it it really makes things POP. Perfect for finishing pastas or even just jazzing up your veggies tbh.
wonder oven: I love an air fryer but it can only fit so much. I love this wonder oven because it’s essentially a mini oven with all the bells and whistles. It is QUIET (my convection oven is a beast), and most importantly it doesn’t heat up the whole dang house so I use it a loooooot in the summer.
balloon cropped shirt: dress it down for a cowgirl moment, dress it up for a biz cash moment. It cuts in all the right places, and is great for summer AND fall. I’m in my brown era.
That’s all for now, thanks for being here, can’t wait to cook more together this month!
