March was a big one! 10 beige and delicious recipes, and honestly some of my favourites I've ever posted. But spring colors are starting to show up in the kitchen and I'm here for it. Here’s what I made this month:
Got cravings for April? Drop them in the comments!

We are getting married May 16th! Truthfully this month has been a little quieter socially because we are elbow-deep in planning, but we’re loving it.
Kyle and I got engaged about 3.5 years ago and took our sweet time, zero regrets. We always said we’d wait until we had the bandwidth to actually enjoy the planning process. Well, jokes on us because that time never really came. So this past summer we finally said okay, we’re doing this. And now we’re planning a wedding in like 3 months. Classic.
We picked May because it’s our first date anniversary, which means we now have a built-in excuse to go somewhere beautiful every May for the rest of our lives. Not mad about it.
We’re doing a micro wedding. Under 10 people, under $5K and even still I have moments of stress, so massive props to anyone who has pulled off a big wedding. I genuinely don’t know how you do it.
I’m very Type A about some things, like the itinerary is planned to. the. minute. Which is exactly why I didn’t want a big wedding. I know myself: if things don’t go perfectly, I will spiral. But I’m also very Type B about other things. Do I have my dress or my band yet? Nope. I’m doing my own hair and makeup after hating every trial I did. There’s no cake, no rehearsal and dinner is going to be family style at one of my favorite restaurants.
At the end of the day, as long as Kyle and I get to make it official, hang out with our favourite people, and eat really good food… I’m happy. (We did splurge on the photographer because those photos are forever, and I genuinely cannot wait for you all to see them.) And yes! Reggie will be there.
Then in June, we’re off to Italy for our honeymoon: Venice, Florence, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast. If you have recommendations, please drop them in the comments. Type B Rachel has fully taken over and we have not booked a single thing. 🙂
partanna olives with calabrian chilis: found these babies at Costco and am dreaming of the martinis I’ll have.
savoursmith chips: I recently discovered these and am obsessed. They have so many unique flavors and I just love their branding. We will be serving these at our wedding as part of a light snack before dinner. Stay tuned 👀
marine collagen: same here, prepping myself for the wedding. I’ve been drinking it for about 6 weeks - add it to my coffee every morning. And my skin has honestly never looked better, hair is shiiiiiiny, and (fortunately/unfortunately) my nails are growing faster than I can get to the salon.
chunky ring from amazon: got so many questions about this ring this month. I like to buy a cheaper version of jewelry before I invest in a proper piece just cause I change my mind so quickly. This one has been great - no staining of the fingers, no gold rub off. And I’m really digging the style so will definitely be looking into adding a quality one to my collection in the future.
Nellie’s no rinse dog shampoo: I love nellie’s and didn’t realize they had so many pet products. I’m obsessed with this no rinse dog shampoo cause I love a clean Reggie but Reggie does not love to be cleaned. (And use code GIFT20 for 20% your Nellie’s order!)
new stylish safety gloves: ya’ll get OUTRAGED when I use my mandoline and don’t wear a glove haha so I bought a color for every outfit to be sure I never run out. They are true to size and work very well.
See you Saturday - xx Rach

Congratulations!
I’m so happy you’ve picked a date and are making plans! Our 46th anniversary is on May 17th! We went to Tuscany for our 25th anniversary in 2004 and loved it. My husband spent 10 days riding his bicycle on the roads of Tuscany with a tour group (who took me and a few other non-riders to wonderful places during the day). I took a day-long cooking class with Chicca Maionne (https://cookingintuscany.cc) and our class served dinner that night to our tour group. After the bike tour, we splurged and stayed in Florence for several days at the Boutique Hotel In Piazza Della Signoria (https://www.boutiquehotelinpiazza.com/), located just off the Piazza Della Signoria and in walking distance of most places we wanted to go. I think it’s maybe 400 yards from the Uffuzi Gallery and a block or two from the fanciest shops. It was a very romantic B&B with great hosts. Our favorite restaurant in Florence was La Giostra. The owner was a prince (really!) and he served our meal. His son took over after his death a few years ago. But, we never found a less than amazing restaurant in Tuscany. We visited quite a few of the small hill towns and some larger ones like Pienza and Montepulciano. Drank some (a lot) of amazing wines. Ate so much good food! Visited museums and monasteries; went to the beach; shopped; visited wineries, olive oil factories, and cheese factories; and walked for many miles. My favorite works of art in Florence was Michelangelo’s David and several paintings by Botticelli.
