This is a super easy super delicious appetizer that will surely be devoured first at every party.
**If you can't find everything but the bagel seasoning feel free to sub in for just sesame seeds or poppy seeds.
1 pack puff pastry
2 tbsp dijon mustard
Everything but the bagel seasoning
Red pepper jelly
200 g honey ham cut thick
1 large egg
100 g gruyere cheese
Preheat oven to 400F. *If you're using an unrolled pastry, sprinkle surface with flour and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick.
Slice pastry into 2 inch x 2 inch pieces - big enough to stamp with a shot glass but still have a bit of an edge around it. Stamp each piece with a shot glass, pressing down to make an indent but not cutting through. Place pieces on a large lined baking sheet, leaving an inch between each.
To each tart, add a dollop of dijon, and divide cheese and ham up evenly amongst pieces. Crack egg into a small dish with 1 tbsp cold water and whisk well. Brush egg on the edges of each pastry, then sprinkle edges with everything but the bagel seasoning.
Note** It's really important your oven is hot enough or your pastry will not puff properly.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack immediately.
Serve with red pepper jelly on the side or a small dollop on each piece if you're serving right away!
