1/2 tsp worcestershire
1 tbsp milk
1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 pack onion soup mix
1/3 cup shredded parmesan
1 egg
1 tbsp mayo + more for garnish
1 tsp dijon
1/2 tsp pepper
4 burger buns
Caremlized onion jam for garnish*
Arugula for garnish
1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
1 tbsp milk
1/3 cup grated parm
4 slices gouda
1 lb ground turkey
1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 pack onion soup mix
1/2 tsp worcestershire
1 egg
1 tbsp milk
1/3 cup shredded parmesan
1 tbsp mayo + more for garnish
1 tsp dijon
1/2 tsp pepper
To a large bowl, add 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs, 1/2 pack onion soup mix, 1/2 tsp worcestershire, 1 egg, 1 tbsp milk, 1/3 cup shredded parmesan, 1tbsp mayo, 1 tsp dijon and 1/2 tsp pepper. Mix well and set aside for 5 minutes so the soup mix can hydrate.
After 5 minutes add turkey and use to forks to mix gently, don't overwork the meat.
Form into 4 patties.
Heat a large grill pan or fry pan over medium heat. Add a light layer of oil and add patties. Cook until golden brown on the outside and 165F in the middle (about 4-6 minutes per side). For the last minute of cooking, add sliced gouda to each patty. Add a splash of cold water to your pan then cover with a lid to melt the cheese. Remove from heat.
While your burgers are cooking, toast your buns. Assemble burgers with mayo, arugula, onion jam and a dash of grainy dijon. Serve with fries, salad and a coke zero ;)
*If you can't find onion jam, I recommend grilling up or caramelizing a few to top the burgers, as the onions are key!
