Strawberry Earl Grey Trifle

Pin Recipe

What do you get when a tiramisu, a trifle and a banana cream pudding walk into a bar. This dessert. This is my kind of dessert, no baking or heat required and very little effort. You can swap up the fruit, layer it however you want, use whatever dish you fancy. THERE ARE NO RULES PEOPLE.

Well there is one rule, and that is dessert is spelled with 2 s's because you always want more of it.

Dairy

1 1/2 cup whipping cream

1 1/2 cup whole milk

Pudding

1 pack vanilla pudding mix

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 1/2 cup whole milk

Fruit Layer

1 pint strawberries

1 lemon - juice and zest

1 tbsp sugar

Whipping Cream

1 1/2 cups whipping cream

1/4 cup confectioner's sugar

1 1/2 tbsp vanilla

Pre Recipe Prep

1.

Make your tea

Add 3 tea bags to 1 cup boiling water. Set aside.

2.

Make pudding

In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 pack vanilla pudding mix, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1 1/2 cups whole milk. Place in fridge for at least 5 minutes.

3.

Make fruit layer

In a small bowl, add sliced strawberries (leave about 4 - 5 aside for the top layer) juice and zest of 1 lemon, and 1 tbsp sugar. Mix and set aside.

4.

Make whipped cream

To a large bowl, add 1 1/2 cups whipping cream, 1/4 cup confectioners sugar, 1 1/2 tbsp vanilla. Mix with hand mixer for about 3 minutes until you see peaks form on their own (you can whisk by hand but this will take longer, so be ready to work).

5.

Assemble

In a dish of your choosing (glass is best but use what your heart desires) start layering your ingredients. Depending on your dish size you may do 1 - 3 layers of each portion so layer it up accordingly (a rectangular pyrex will yield 1-2 thin layers of each, where a circular pie plate will be 2-3 layers of each).

One at a time, quickly dip lady fingers in your tea and place in your dish. Layer with your pudding, whipping cream, then strawberries. Repeat until you've used all your ingredients up. Top with last bit of whipped cream and remaining sliced strawberries.

Chill for at least 1 hour.
