2 cans cannellini beans
1 tbsp black pepper
Olive oil
1 large bunch broccolini
1 lemon
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup pecorino romano
Set your broiler to high. Trim broccolini so all stems are the same size (no thick stems). Toss in olive oil and salt. Place under broiler for 10-15 minutes until they are charred in spots, flipping halfway through and keeping a close eye so they don't char too much. Once cooked drizzle with lemon. While they're cooking, make your beans.
Drain and rinse your beans. To a large frying pan over medium heat, add 1 tbsp fresh cracked black pepper. Cook for about 1 minute to bloom the pepper. Add in beans, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 cup cream. Bring to a simmer and once it begins to thicken slightly, remove from heat and add 1/2 cup shredded pecorino and mix well. The sauce should have an alfredo like consistency, if too thick add water, 1 tbsp at a time. Serve beans with broccolini on top and pecorino shavings.
